Guitar Center was founded in 1959 when Wayne Mitchell purchased a small appliance and home organ store in Hollywood. A few years later, the president of Thomas Organ asked if Mitchell would be interested in selling a new line of guitars and amplifiers called Vox. By the late 1960s, The Organ Store had become Guitar Center. Today Guitar Center has more than 150 locations around the country, plus its online store. It also sells used gear. Software, books, videos, CDs, harmonicas, internal earphones, earplugs, microphones, computers, DJ cartridges and styli, fog fluid, cleaning products, vintage items, demo gear, opened strings, tubes and leased purchases or special orders cannot be returned.
There is a 14-day return period on recording devices – multitrack and mixdown, DJ mixers, turntables, CD players, studio monitors, pro workstation keyboards, rackmount signal processors, fog machines and lighting effects.
